New Leaf Associates, Inc. Publishing Copyright Policy Print E-mail

Once an article is peer reviewed and approved for publishing, we require the author(s) to transfer copyrights to New Leaf Associates, Inc.. Copyright transfer is a standard practice in journal publishing. It is designed to protect the interests of authors, editors, and publishers and maximize protection against infringement, libel or plagiarism. As the copyright owner New Leaf can (1) publish your work and ensure its widest possible dissemination; (2) take all reasonable steps to act against unauthorized replication of an article in part or in whole; (3) receive and to administer permissions and deal with licensing issues relating to an article; (4) ensure the safe archiving of an article, and (5) supply the definitive information on how to cite your article in both print and online formats.

Only peer-reviewed articles require copyright transfer. Authors of special topic columns, book reviews, or any other non-peer reviewed materials are free to publish this material elsewhere with the understanding that they will cite the Journal as the initial source of publication.

Government employees (such as USDA and Cooperative Extension employees) are exempt from transferring copyright as their work is regarded as in the public domain.
